Health, Public & People

Fitness & Wellness.

Products people open on day sixty, not just day one.

Drema builds fitness and wellness products where the engineering problem is retention. Tracking, wearable integration, coaching and community all matter, but the design question that decides the business is what brings someone back in week eight after motivation has faded.

The problem

What this sector
actually deals with.

Sign-ups are easy and retention is brutal. Apps are built around the enthusiastic first week, then offer nothing to someone who has missed three days and feels behind. Subscriptions churn quietly and nobody knows which cohort or which moment lost them.

The starting point for most fitness & wellness engagements
What we build

Systems this sector
keeps needing.

The parts of a fitness & wellness platform that carry the weight. Not everything at once — we build the one that unblocks you first.

01

Activity and habit tracking

Logging that takes seconds, because anything slower gets abandoned.

02

Wearable integration

Apple Health, Google Fit and device SDKs with sensible conflict handling.

03

Programme and coaching delivery

Structured plans with progression, plus coach-to-client messaging.

04

Subscription and billing

Trials, tiers, pauses and win-back flows rather than a single blunt plan.

05

Retention analytics

Cohort retention and the specific drop-off points behind it.

Use cases

Where the work
pays for itself.

The problems fitness & wellness teams bring us most often. If one of these is costing you money today, it is worth a conversation.

01

Gym and studio apps

Class booking, memberships and check-in for physical locations.

02

Coaching platforms

Remote trainers delivering programmes and feedback at scale.

03

Corporate wellness

Employer programmes with participation reporting and privacy separation.

04

Habit and mental wellness

Streaks, reflection and nudges designed to survive a missed day.

Constraints

What shapes a build
in this sector.

These are the things a generalist team discovers late and prices badly. We design around them from the first week.

  • Health data sensitivity and explicit consent for sharing
  • App store rules for health claims and subscriptions
  • Wearable platform review requirements
  • Honest framing — no medical claims without evidence
FAQ

Fitness & Wellness
questions.

Straight answers, including where we are not the right team.

Which wearables can you integrate?

Apple Health and Google Fit cover most users, with direct SDK integration for Fitbit, Garmin and similar where your audience needs it. The harder part is reconciling conflicting data from several sources, which is where we spend the design effort.

How do you improve retention?

By instrumenting where people actually stop and designing for the recovery moment. Most fitness apps punish a missed day with a broken streak; the products that retain make returning after a lapse feel normal rather than like failure.

Can you handle subscriptions across app stores?

Yes, including store billing, receipt validation, entitlement sync across platforms and web, and the win-back and pause flows that recover a meaningful share of churn.

Can we make health claims in the app?

Only ones you can evidence. App stores reject unsupported medical claims and it is a genuine liability. We will flag copy that crosses that line during the build.
